MAC is known for launching one gorgeous collection after another. However, the one MAC collection that stands the 
test of time and will never be out of style is the Viva Glam collection. In an effort to create a grassroots community outreach for those living with HIV and AIDS; the MAC AIDS Fund was born. In 1994 the first Viva Glam lipstick was introduced as the vehicle for the MAC AIDS Fund.
MAC kicked off their charity campaign by selling the Viva Glam lipstick with drag queen, Rupaul, as its spokesmodel. Past spokesmodels also include k.d. Lang, Mary J. Blige, and Pamela Anderson just to name a few. Cyndi Lauper and Lady Gaga are currently holding the torch as spokesmodels. The efforts have been wildly successful by raising over $150 million to date.
Every penny from the sale price of MAC Viva Glam lipsticks and lipglasses are donated to the MAC AIDS Fund. The fund supports national and international programs in addressing the links between poverty and HIV/AIDS. The mission of the MAC AIDS Fund is “to serve people of all ages, all races. and all sexes affected by HIV and AIDS”.
