BEAUTY TIPS FROM KESHIA KNIGHT PULLIAM & NIKKI WALTON

I recently interviewed, award winning actress,  Keshia Knight Pulliam,    (most of us know her best for her role as Rudy on The Cosby Show) and natural hair expert and founder of CurlyNikki.com, Nikki Walton at a red carpet event.

These ladies were just as beautiful on the inside as they were on the outside.  I was curious to know what they were doing to have such gorgeous hair and flawless ski, so I asked them both what was their #1 beauty tip.

Keshia Knight Pulliam’s #1 Beauty Tip:  “My number one beauty tip is achieving beauty from the inside-out.  For me, real beauty comes from the inside-out.  Eating right, drinking plenty of water, daily exercise, and live a clean lifestyle for beautiful hair, beautiful skin, and a beautiful body.”

Nikki Walton’s #1 Beauty Tip:  “Keeping my hair well-moisturized is my number one beauty tip.  A deep conditioning treatment is important for maintaining textured hair.  I treat my hair to a deep condition after each wash.”arrow

supermodel Emme beauty tip

SUPERMODEL EMME REDEFINING BEAUTY

How confident are you in your skin? Supermodel, Emme, is spreading a message about beauty that is more than skin deep. Emme is a pioneer and icon in the fashion industry as a successful full-figured model. She is breaking new ground again as a green living expert and women’s advocate. Emme is on a mission to educate women that true beauty is achieved through self-acceptance and self-love.

In a society obsessed with media driven ideals of beauty, it is only natural to listen when a beauty icon, such as a supermodel, has something to say. “Research has shown that eighty percent of women are unhappy with how they look”, stated Emme. Named as one of People magazine’s 50 most beautiful people in 1994 and 1999, she is taking action to promote her message by raising women’s awareness of healthy lifestyle options through her new ventures.

Afterglow Cosmetics, Inc

Emme is also working to promote positive self-image among women by creating a network to connect women worldwide. Her website, EmmeNation provides an online forum support and resource for women. Emme is also taking her mission on the road with her Whole You National Tour. The tour will showcase speakers sharing her message of self-acceptance.

Emme’s passionate mission is the culmination of her own journey to self-acceptance. She has braved the challenges of being a woman with curves in an industry where the stick-thin ideal is an unrealistic representation of most women. She has also braved the challenges of a life-threatening battle with lymphatic cancer. Emme is a triumphant survivor and an example of the true beauty that results from self-love.

The Body Shop & Celebrity Makeup Artist, Shalini Vadhera

Beauty-lovers and earth-lovers, alike, can find something in common at The Body Shop. The quality beauty products and the eco-conscious philosophy offer something for everyone. True to form, The Body Shop in Perimeter Mall in Atlanta, Georgia blurred the line between the glamorous life and green-living at a special event on June 9, 2011.

The Body Shop featured celebrity makeup artist and author of Passport to Beauty, Shalini Vadhera, to kick off the launch of the Honey Bronze collection. Ms. Vadhera provided complimentary consultations and makeovers using products from the new collection. Guests were then treated to a professional headshot to forever capture the glamorous moment.

Ms Vadhera explained that the Honey Bronze collection is “designed to enhance the natural, healthy glow of the skin”. The products from the collection are formulated with real honey. Honey has long been revered for its skin nourishing properties. It helps skin retain water making it an excellent moisturizer. It is also perfect for the summer months because it helps fight against damage caused by the sun’s UV rays.

Take a peek at the event and the Honey Bronze collection

The Honey Bronze collection maintains The Body Shop’s commitment to offering products that are responsibly sourced. The honey used in the product line is supplied by Bezamar in Ethiopia. According to The Body Shop website, the beekeepers harvest the honey traditionally, using hives handcrafted from locally grown bamboo. This results in strong, healthy bees while deterring logging.

The collection includes Honey Bronzing Powder, Honey Bronze Brilliance Powder, Honey Bronze Shimmering Dry Oil, Honey Bronze Bronzing Gel for Face, and Honey Bronze Lip Nectar. Stop by your local The Body Shop or visit www.thebodyshop-usa.com for details on the collection. Also, learn more about The Body Shop’s Community Fair Trade.
