Aloha! I am Ms Toi; beauty journalist, author, YouTuber, and creator of MsToi.com. My story begins in a little home on the island of Oahu, Hawai’i. I was raised in a home in which natural beauty was a way of life. When our family had beauty dilemma, we went to our garden for the solution. I had no idea this simple way of life would later ignite my passion for health & beauty.
During my education, I began finding scientific studies that alarmed me. Many cases of the growing health epidemic in the U.S. were possibly linked to the use of toxic ingredients in personal care products that we use everyday. The more evidence I found that the beauty products I loved were not loving me back the more I realized that I had to find healthier alternatives. I discovered that the simple, natural remedies I learned as a child provided effective results to maintain and enhance beauty. But having the knowledge for myself was not enough…I had to share it with everyone. I became passionate about providing researched information about the safety of our personal care products and cosmetics.
MsToi.com was created to be a resource for healthy beauty. I investigate beauty trends and products to find safe and healthy alternatives. MsToi.com fills a niche for beauty lovers who want to be glamorous without it being a hazard to their health. I use my bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science (Georgia State University) and certification as an esthetician (Aveda Institute) to help me bring scientific facts about beauty down to earth for anyone to understand and apply. I am currently working on earning my master’s degree in public health. My goal is to become a cosmetic chemist – the ultimate kind of do-it-yourselfer!
